I lived in Barbados for awhile and I didn’t really see this white influence everyone speaks of. I saw that there was a very small segregated upper class of whites, but the culture of the island seemed very black to me. Perhaps you think the whites hold all the wealth, but why not create new businesses to compete with them? Surely with a population of over 85% black, you would have an easy customer base. Do you worry that black people would stay faithful to white businesses? Well, as Kadri said, if you don’t like the cook, don’t eat his food.
