FACT: This is another BFP fraud. None of it is true. Barbados Free Press invented the entire story.

LIE #5

DATE: 23 September 2007

BFP LIE: Barbados Prime Minister Owen Arthur is in New York City and will be addressing the United Nations tomorrow, on Monday, September 24, 2007. Sources say that the bill for Strongman Owen Arthur’s hotel suite is US$15,000 per night.

FACT: Barbados Free Press does NOT know where the prime minister is staying in New York. That’s why he can’t provide a NAME of any hotel.

BFP LIE: Since January 17, 2006, Barbados Free Press has been not only a publisher of news and information, this blog has been an open forum where Bajans and others have enjoyed the freedom to discuss issues and information that is censored from public discussion in the mainstream Barbados media.

FACT: Barbados Free Press does NOT publish news. He COPIES news articles from the established media houses in Barbados (the same media which it spends so much time attacking) and makes his own comments about those articles, sometimes accompanied with fake or altered photos. Barbados Free Press does not practice freedom of speech on his blog. Any comments which speak positively about the country or government of Barbados are hastily DELETED. Barbados Free Press is a blog for the SUPPRESSION of free speech.

BFP LIE: Barbados Labour Party Candidate Wins International Cash Prize For “Outstanding Achievement In Abortion”

FACT: George Griffith didn’t win anything from the International Planned Parenthood Federation. The federation awarded the Barbados Family Planning Association a cash prize of $25,000 and an international accreditation for outstanding achievement in the area of safe abortion/termination. George Griffith, who is the executive director of the Barbados Family Planning Association, is one of several people working for that organisation.

DATE: 2 September 2007

BFP LIE: Barbados Election Now Delayed From November 2007 to March 2008

FACT: Elections in Barbados were last held on 21 May 2003 and are constitutionally due by May 2008. Election dates are decided by and announced by the prime minister, and he hasn’t announced the next election date.
